Scouts May Fair - Monday 7 May on the recreation ground from 12 noon to 3pm.
Weyside - 5 to 7 May at the New Inn - boating event and related activities.

Lancaster Hall Barn Dance - 12 May at 8pm.
A planting party will assemble at 3pm on Friday 25 May in the Lancaster Hall car park to plant at several places in the village in red, white and blue - all green-fingered volunteers welcome!

DIARY DATE
Send Diamond Jubilee picnic on the recreation ground on 4 June from 12 noon. Bring your own families and food. Entertainment and beer tent being organised plus parade along the main road.
LOCAL NEWS - DIAMOND JUBILEE YEAR
Send and Ripley History Society is holding a competition for young people to design a Diamond Jubilee mug or plate. The winners will be able to go to the Ceramics Cafe in Ripley to make their item.
The Parish Council has applied for 420 free trees from the Woodland Trust, to plant in November on the Sandy Lane boundary of the recreation ground. This needs the support of the local community. Please Contact us to express your support.
The telephone kiosk outside the parade of shops has been adopted by the Parish Council and volunteers started on its restoration on tidy-up day. Follow the blog at https://sendtelephonekiosk.wordpress.com/ Contact us with any ideas for the future use of the kiosk, other than it simply remaining as a heritage piece.
The 2006/7 Send Parish Plan has been reviewed and a new working document - Issues facing the parish in 2012 - was adopted by the PC in January. A copy of this document can be found via the Parish Council/ Parish Plan page.
